Youth are some of the most favored demographics that marketers attempt to reach. However, reaching youth where they are is vital.
If you are trying to attract youth, here are some places to go:
MySpace
FreshFilms
YouTube
XBox Live
Flickr
Runescape
AddictingGames
Youth are fickle, and what’s hot today will not be hot tomorrow. However, at this time, these are all sites that are taking youth’s attention and keeping it. MySpace has an average (read: average) page stay of 3 hours.
Youth are on MySpace, XBox, et al for hours and they are right where you want to catch them with marketing. They’re living life…

It’s not easy, but making your home office less distraction-friendly is vital to your efficiency. If you are blessed enough to have an environment that does not include frequent distractions, then you may not need to consider this, but if you are like me you probably do have to work in a stressful work zone.
The first step to creating a distraction-free zone is finding out what distracts you. For me it’s my kids. I’ve had to schedule out time when they can have my full attention and time when they cannot have my full attention. I’ve also made preparation for those times well ahead of time. They’ve got snacks, juice boxes, games and books laid out that entice them to stay in one area and lay low.
I’ve also talked with them and stressed the importance of the office being a quiet place during my essential working hours.
You must do the same. Assess your work schedule. Assess your distractions and create a plan to deal with them as effectively as possible.

An efficient website is a more profitable website. Tweaking your site can increase your profitability as much as 25%.
Take a look at your books. Could you use another 25% added to your revenue?
It’s shocking to realize that simple site tweaks could really earn you that much more money, but sites that engage readers keep them on the page longer, increasing clicks, sales and leads for your company.
Look at these areas to tweak:

The stock market is an exciting, yet intimidating market to get into. So many have a desire to take part in the market, but they lack the drive to take the first step.
Take heart, it’s much easier than you think.
Dollar Cost Averaging
One quick way to invest in the market is to choose a plan that allows for dollar cost averaging. Dollar cost averaging means you own parts of a share, and others own the rest of the share. This affords the smaller investor with a way to get his feet wet in the market.
You can start with as small as $50 and can even have a percentage of your paycheck diverted to your dollar cost averaging fund.

The Fed Chairman raised the interest rate yesterday 1/4 point and the discount rates as well. This means you will see higher interest rates when you take out a loan to buy any property.
However, there is good news. The Fed Chairman hinted that while further rate increases may be imminent, they may not come as early as the next meeting as expected. And, while 1/4 point is significant, many analysts expected 1/2 point.
So, while there is some bad news, most of it is good in comparison to what could have happened.

A stolen Veterans Affairs employee’s laptop containing personal information on 26 million U.S. veterans was recovered this week. Investigators with the Federal Bureau of Investigation said the sensitive data on the laptop’s hard drive had not been accessed, according to a “preliminary review of the equipment by computer forensic teams.” Further forensic examination will take place as the VA and other government agencies and companies take steps to protect consumer data in the face of a growing number of regular data breach disclosures.

Anyone who has tried to book a long-haul flight recently will be aware of the enormous number of tour and flight operators currently plying their trade online. Type the words “cheap flight to Bangkok” into Google, and you will be instantly wooed by hundreds of companies, from the big shots such as Expedia and Opodo, to the small shops operated from tiny offices in London side-streets. However, it is just as well that there is this much choice as, according to new research, the travel sector has one of the worst online customer service records in Britain.

Limitations with radio frequency identification technology have delayed a nationwide rollout at UK-based supermarket giant Tesco by several years. Tesco had planned to install RFID tags and readers in 1,400 shops and 30 distribution centers by the middle of this year, but has so far completed just 40 stores and one depot. Instead of tagging individual products, it will now permanently tag transport items such as cages and trolleys and install the technology over several years.

Earlier this year I spent a couple weeks in Australia visiting subsidiaries. I was amazed to see how the seemingly smallest of processes Australian companies use to communicate internally have major implications globally. It’s been tempting to create a maturity model that shows the wide gulf in organizations’ maturity at transferring knowledge globally. I’ve resisted the temptation to go deep into analytical constructs, however, choosing not to be an accidental analyst, instead deciding to be a deliberate intentional tourist.

Earlier this month, Aprimo released Marketing 7.5, a milestone for the company in many respects. It is the first release that incorporates Ensemble, a product acquired from DoubleClick, and it provides business-to-consumer campaign management capability for the first time. Marketing 7.5 is also the first major release overseen by Chief Marketing Officer Michael Emerson, who joined Aprimo in February. Emerson is a Siebel alumnus who stayed with the CRM market maker “to the very end,” as he put it.
