Riding off the success of the Sales Process Map, I
thought I’d try to map out the steps required for a Successful CRM
Implementation. For those who have done it before you can attest to the fact
that there are lots of moving parts and it can be hard to grasp the big picture.
The Successforce Implementation Map identifies who
should be involved in your CRM initiative and plots their responsibilities
during a typical 45 day rollout. This is a great way to get everyone on the same page and
ensure you’re building a strong foundation.
Since there is no one size fits all approach to
implementing CRM, I’ve made this process map available in PowerPoint format so
that you can adjust the dates and modify the activities to fit your situation.
I’d also like to get feedback in the
comments section below to find out what you think. This is a work in progress
so your ideas are much appreciated.

IBM is pushing its business partners to more heavily promote its software-as-a-service initiative by offering new sales and marketing incentives. Channel partners will receive a 10 percent referral fee for each lead that turns into a sale. IBM will also make its sales force more accessible to partners to help them close opportunities faster. IBM’s “Software as Services Showcase” initiative, which was launched eight months ago, functions much like an online directory.

IBM on Monday announced a new open-source initiative meant to boost security and give consumers more control over their personal online identity information. Code-named “Project Higgins,” the initiative is a collaborative effort by Big Blue, Novell and Parity Communications to develop security software for user-centric identity management. It is based on a concept developed by Harvard Law School’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society and is similar to Microsoft’s planned InfoCard.
